Calla #2

Sorry Phill, but I have to say that I do not like it either. I have recently decided that flowers have been so done to death that I am not going to try with them anymore. I sure like your other stuff though

Well, I like it. The design here is very strong, and the execution was very good as well.

I like the off center composition and the shadow gives it character. It feels more than the mere study of a flora specimen.

It's striking. But I think my mind keeps looking for the rest of the flower.

Phill, I like this a great deal. This becomes something more then a flower. It is very strong representation of "form".

It has been my experience that those who are used to photographing or viewing
identifiable objects are very reluctant to become involved with form.

I view this as an indication of your growth as a photographer.

I like the fact that you have taken one of the most overused subjects in photography, the Calla, and done something different. The anti-Calla shot.

Interesting image, my only thought is that it might have been a stronger image if shot on 6x7 or 5x4, i kinda prefer that persepective and i think this might help the image a bit, thats just me though. Good work.
