I just wanted to share my first attempt at developing Tri-X in Rodinal. I saw a post about it and thought I would try it. I tried it out on 4x5 so if it came out really grainy it wouldn't matter so much.
Thanks Deniz,
I've been using Rodinal with slower speed films like Efke 25 for a while now, I've even processed Azo prints in the stuff, but it never occurred to me to try a faster film like tri-x in it until I saw a post on here maybe a week ago or so talking about it. I just always assumed that since Agfa didn't recommend using it with fast film it would turn out bad, but after trying it I like the look it gave me, and will probably use it much more in the future.
by limiting your agitation and using gentle agitation the grain particles will stay even sharper and will sharpen up the print more. But like all film sharpness and grain go hand in hand. So yes it is great on large format negatives.
