Since I did not offer much in the way of critique earlier, I would like to do so now as I have given this work some thought.

I find these images edgy, but I think it's more because the subject is edgy... I mean how can you not make edgy pictures of sex workers? Now that you have posted several images, I find the work disturbing. It looks like you have paid for their time, gone into the sex room, and used their bodies to satisfy a photographic need.

Your responses have been very thoughtful, so it is with all due respect, as I have been thinking about this work.. I do find it offensive that you have added to the exploitation that is going on here. The harsh flash alludes to pornographic work, though I don't find these to be pornographic, but pornography is shallow... and ultimately not very satisfying. And I find this series frustrating, because it doesn't raise enough questions about each individual.

I would be interested to know whether you have photographed the context of the lives of these people. Where do they live? With whom? How? I don't know, I just want to see more depth to the work.
