This is extremely interesting. Does it have this nice pink cast in hand? WT glossy is it RC or FB? Not toned? I've been wondering about using caffenol as a paper developer... it looks like with WT paper you end up with some very interesting tones. Nice!

Thanks, Steve. I'm not sure I've ever gotten a "wow" on APUG before.Ned, the print in hand looks pretty much as it appears here; the pink tone is pretty close to what you see. It is on Ilford WT glossy RC paper, which works very well in Caffenol... and it is toned in KRST, which also improves the appearance of most Caffenol prints. This was a VERY difficult print to pull. I was trying to emulate the lith process... heavy over-exposures, dilute developer, etc. But, as Dr. Tim was very patient to explain to me when I first discussed this with him some years ago, Caffenol is not a lith developer. For one thing, the development is not infectious, and for another, because the developer is so black, it is very difficult to determine an appropriate snatch time. Out of a handful of attempts, this is the only one which really works the way I wanted. (and the only one that pulls the foreground tree out of the noise of the background.)Thanks for the comments.

cool, the sky sorta melds into the tree so the tree looks to be growing the sky.The clouds look like leaf/clumps and branches.I see this is the Maco IR.I think I remember a buddy that had some in sheets and the ISO turned out to be around 6 or 8.Slow stuff if it is the same.

Thanks, guys. Bruce, I expose most IR at 6, but this stuff is at ISO 3 (or was that 1.6... VERY slow) I miss the Maco IR; it had wonderfully smooth tones. (despite the occasional QC problems, which were well documented)
