One of the many restored and preserved cabins in Cades Coves in Great Smoky Mtns. Natl. Park, Tenn. I could spend about a week shooting at any one of them.
this has real possibilities, The tonality is beautiful as is the light. I am bothered that the whole thing seems to tilt a bit to the left. Straighten the lines and viola a very nice print
Thanks for your comment. I couldn't get the scan to look quite right; the print has more snap and detail (and of course it would). I distinctly remember leveling the camera and lining everything up on the ground glass, but this is an almost 150 yr. old building, and just maybe it's not as square as it once was. Dean
You could turn your printing easel just a hair clockwise, and that will make the lines perfectly horizontal. In an image like this, its VERY important to have those lines correct, otherwise the image is falling to one side. This image might be more interesting if you placed the window off-center, or even get closer and crop part of it. Just an idea for next time. Since you are shooting large format, it gives you the possiblity to see how it will look.
Actually, it was easy to straighten when I printed it. But when I scanned it, I would have had to crop off too much. Maybe I shouldn't have posted this one, it just looses too much in the scan. Dean
