OK I've stared at this for a while, and it's an interesting shot with some balance, a nice diagonal, interesting textures and grain and its a decent picture. But like I said on another picture recently, it's slightly ominous but not emotionally so. I would be very tempted to make the viewer go into the void. And to do that you need to get rid of the escape route. You need to crop the picture vertically down the edge of the driftwood to cut off the escape route. Now they are forced to go through the opening, the gate so to speak. And I think I'd take a little bit off the bottom as well. Because it give them a landing point, a place of refuge. Make them walk through the opening. Otherwise you have a interesting landscape but no real tension or emotion.
