Bryant Lake Bowl

Bryant Lake Bowl

This represents my first foray into hand coloring photographs. Many of the colors are very subtle, you may not be able to see it in the scan, but every square inch has oil paint on it.

I had a real blast doing this, and intend to continue when creativity strikes. I really like the idea of having one single original. Can't make another just like it.

Thanks for looking!

That can't be easy, but you pulled it off.

Nice choice of everything -- format, film, subject, everything. It all comes together.

Thats my kind of color. Cool. Did you use photo oils or just any oil paint you had laying around?
Best, Jim

Very nice Thomas. As stated, the colors are just right for my taste as well

Hi guys, thanks for your nice comments! It took me four hours to paint the whole thing. I used RC paper and sprayed it with the appropriate adhesive so the oils would stick. The 'Grain Belt' beer sign was the hardest one, mainly because I was working with a tooth pick and a magnifying glass. You really need good lighting to do this well!
You should have seen my kitchen table when I was done... Whew, what a mess.
Thanks again,
- Thomas

WOW! My first thought was, What film gives these colors? Well done indeed!!!
