Brothers at the market

I shot these two guys (probably brothers) at the street market in the town of Miguel Calmon.

I don't like shooting in busy places like that, as it's very hard to get "engage" somebody. Everyone is always rushing. Shooting at this street market and on the horse festival one or two days later gave me huge headaches, and very few good negatives.

I ran into these two as I made my way out of the market, and this was the second to last frame I shot there.

I have no earthly idea as to what they were looking at, but it must have been good. I had asked if I could take a shot, and they were as curious as any kid you point a camera at, until whatever it is that they were looking at appeared.

Please let me know what you think of this image. I'm open to all criticism, good or bad. Just explain the bad ones so that I can learn from them :-).

BY THE WAY, THE WHITES ARE A BIT BRIGHTER ON THE PRINT. I guess I slacked off on the scanning.

Andre from my perspective there is nothing wrong with it at all. When shooting in the street you have to work fast and small details like bits of finger, foot, ear or other sticky out bits don't matter (some might disagree with me on that one). You have captured the spirit of those 2 children and for me it's a beautiful capture.

It wasn't a large piano about to land on you from a great height I take it

I think the unstaticness about it (I know, that's not a word) is what makes is special. Street shooting is hard. Street shooting with 6x6 even harder. I like street shooting with a 6x17

Thank you Tony and Eric.

I guess I don't mind street shooting, but crowded places. It's much easier to connect with somebody if there isn't hundreds of other people around. Not to mention that crowded places are unconfortable even without a camera.

Now eric, street shooting with a 6x17? Come on... aren't you doing that just to be able to brag about it? Or is it to impress women?

I'm kidding, but I'd like to see what comes out of that, if you care to share.

I love the bit of detail in the left bottom corner. I see that he also has a car on his shirt. The car in his hand led me to other visuals of him playtime with that car.

The fact that they are not looking at you seems to add to the photo.

Hi Andre, a very good picture. Cropped head give a lot of dynamism into it, so the skew horizont is absolutely no problem. The tonality is perfect. And you catch a very nice moment - I was a boy for a moment looking at this picture. (the second thing is that by my wife there are only few moments I'm not as a boy ) Again, a very good work.
