Bromoil Transfer

I have made a number of different bromoils of this image and this one has a new twist: It's a bromoil transfer of a Polaroid transfer. It started out as a 35mm color silde. Then it was an 8x10 Polaroid transfer. I rephotographed the Polaroid transfer with B/W film and produced the negative for making the bromoil for this transfer. Three etching press passes on dry 140 lb Bockington watercolor paper (cold press). The yellowish background surrounding the head is Maxwell House coffee quickly applied to the Bockington water color paper with a cotton Q-Tip.

Extraordinary! I'm always astounded by how removing detail, and adding texture can actually bring forward the message of the photograph. There is less and more at the same time! Always love your work, Gene!

I always look forward to your posts Gene. This one is particularly fine.
