I said to myself "wow, how fluid this looks" but of course, running h2o is a fluid. Then I said "no, this looks so liquid" but of course, running h2o is in its liquid state. So I can't call it anything that actually constitutes the object in the image, but of course this photo is really darn sweet to stare at. Cool format 6x9 - makes this all the more so perfect capturing more of the upstream run. I think that split trunk at the top of the photo is essential just as you have it. Glad the format did not lose this.

I'm w/ Michael - trying to articulate what makes it hold my attention & gaze, how the gaze wanders from the flow to the creekside detail. If the water were frozen by shutter, it would be lovely by itself, but the way it flows, espec 10 O'clock from the white center, is fascinating. I lose track of what's direct, what's reflection, and what's water flow. I keep looking. Fabulous, Tony.

Thanks all, much appreciated.I also took a closer view of the stranded log which I will post now....see which you prefer.

I have never done that technique -- really must try it if I can find suitable water here in Brentwood area -- Keep Snapping in 2016 !

i'm partial to this framing, though i definitely see the appeal of the tighter crop, too. this framing tells more of a story; the story is wider and has more varied characters, which is probably where the tension comes from that bruce refers to above (of course that's just my interpretation). both of them are stellar, and really there's no reason they can't co-exist. bravo!!!
