A closer view of the log that I posted yesterday. I prefer the other one myself because of the still water on the upper left...still, I quite like this...
Gorgeous, Tony. I also like the prior image better, but this one is stunning by itself. A trip through your gallery would give the impression you just don't miss. I doubt I'll ever get over the shot of the 'Old Winch'.
Jeez, do you have to upload another masterpiece? I do not have a favorite - they are both truly captivating and beautiful. As you said, the left side still water of the previous one left me without words, as I commented. This one is just breathtaking. Wow! That rock in the upper left - my gosh that is so cool.
I do like the current crop, maybe not necessarily because one way or another works or doesn't work, I don't have a good eye for composition yet. I think the stuff at the top adds to the picture, which overall is a theme, not a center focal point. And I personally really like the sheen and clarity of water streaming over that rock at the top. I also think that the 9x6 aspect ratio brings back into view a feeling of the longness of the river and avoiding a 2D flat photo. I have more of a literal aesthetic than abstract, which is why my images document people places things rather than capture moods or produce a piece of art. I hope to grow more into the art aesthetic.
