Bridges, Over The Susquehanna

I re-discovered this negative recently and gave it a go printing. I was very happy with the results. I took the photograph about 2 years ago on a trip to City Island in Harrisburg, PA. It was a wonderful overcast, foggy, misty day. Perfect for photography!

Toning for this print as follows; pre-sulfide bath in the thiocarbamide toner for 1 minute, wash, bleach in strong pot-ferri bleach to completion, wash, redevelop in thiocarbamide toner with high level of additive (10g/L sodium hydroxide). The result is a wonderful brown sepia tone that doesn't go orange and overpowering (as normal with MGWT) due to the combo of pre-sulfiding and also the high additive in the toner.

Is this near where Rt. 83 crosses the Susquehanna? If so, we pass it a few times a year when visiting my parents. I've always wanted to try to find a place to photograph the bridges, but I keep getting outvoted by the wife and kids. That's a wonderful photo. It looks like it could have been taken any time in the last 100 years.

Yes, 83 is the farthest bridge in the photograph. You can see one of the big pillars in the far distance in the center. There are 4 bridges in this photograph. The bridge in the foreground is the Market Street Bridge. I took this photograph from the Walnut Street bridge which was half destroyed in the flooding after the blizzard of '96. I'm not sure what the next bridge back is, the third bridge is a RR bridge, and lastly 83.

Thanks for the toning info! The orange cast you mention is something I have been struggling with with MGWT. I will try this out, as this looks great.
