Today after work I decided to take the more scenic (if there is such a thing here) route home via the Old Glenn Highway north from Anchorage. Once again the clouds were out in all their glory and I decided to stop at the Old Glenn Highway bridge just outside of Butte, Alaska. The bridge crosses over the Matanuska River and is now used as a conduit for power lines running thru the area.
I really like this image. First, is my distant connection to this site having been over the bridge back in the 60's. Secondly, and more importantly is the image composition idea, 4x5 usage with 90mm for image quality / perspective, and the overall scenic viewing. The actual depth of the view down the bridge road bed is very story telling IMO. It provides a visual perspective that makes us wish we could travel the somewhat now aged & forbidden trestle to see what is on the other-side. Excellent work IMVHO.
