Bridge Over the Monocacy

The bridge on Route 355 that crosses the Monocacy River south of Frederick, Maryland. At the site of a small but very significant battle in the US Civil War where a unit of Union troops delayed a Confederate advance on the Capitol long enough to allow the defenses to be reinforced.
