This bridge on Oklahoma 31, west of Kinta, Oklahoma in Haskell county is typical of the Pony truss style of bridges found on some Oklahoma highways. I set up the camera, and all of a sudden it started raining rather hard. I had my son hold a towel over the camera so I could get the shot.
The idea of documenting the bridges is a great idea. There are certainly many (some of which you have already recorded) that may disappear soon, and having a record will be important. What is the plan for these images - a show, a book, archiving in a local museum?
Not exactly sure what I will do with these photos yet...I'm having too much fun hunting the bridges down and photographing them. Perhaps a self-published book.
Bridges are a favorite of mine. This is a nice view.. like Louie said, I would put together a series.
I am sometimes sent to Norman OK for training, I will have to look around next time I go. Last time I went to the Mt. Scott area in the SW part of the state.
There are some counties in Oklahoma that are chock-a-block with interesting vintage bridges on rural roads. I am plowing thru the counties that are close to me, but I keep discovering more bridges.
