I always think sunsets are difficult in B&W and based on what I've seen of Holgas, especially so with them in terms of neg quality but this one looks very good.
You've captured a hazy sun in the sky and yet a much more defined one in the water on the sand amidst the vast expanse of shore which is potrayed well.
I wasn't sure about this one, I wanted the sun central but by doing that i lost the patterns in the sand which i felt were key to this image. I also wanted the distant golf club house more central but beggars can't be choosers. AS you mention the sun was muted behind thin cloud so I think this helped as the central reflection then became sharp and bright being more central to the sweet spot of the holgas lens. It was this that convinced me it worked.
