Thanks, Vaughn! I'm really starting to like the combination of infrared landscapes and cyanotypes. The IR images just seem to have the right contrast and moodiness for the process.
Very nice image & good use of appropriate process. However, I question the brush stroke usage. I may be in a minority, but I've started using a mat cutout somewhat larger than negative. Place the mat on paper & do brushing with sensitizer within confines of mat. Then remove mat & touch up edges with brush. The edges are still more handmade than using masking tape, but seem to have a cleaner appearance. Just my view.
For my 4x5 negatives I'm a bit more concentrated on the brushstrokes because it adds an interesting framing to an otherwise small image. I also hope (in an abstract way) to have the brushstrokes complement the subject matter. Once I get to doing more 8x10 cyanotypes I'll probably have more subtle borders.
