Boiled birthday cake

Boiled birthday cake

I decided to experiment by boiling a ArTistic Z . I cut the white edges of the polaroid and immersed it for 15/20 in boiling water. I retrieved it before the emulsion paste wrinkled all over.

Thank you all for the comments. With a friend, Rachele, we started to experiment with 600 type and ArTistic polaroids. We are experimenting separately but it was interesting to discuss our findings.
We both managed to lift the emulsion. But there is a lot of the image detail lost. We are under the impression that we would get better result with an image in the high key. Will upload an emulsion lift if I get something more conclusive.
About boiling the pola... I varied the method. The one above still has its backing paper. I just applied pressure on it, and lifted the top emulsion on one side to get the boiling water in. I was handling the pola with chop sticks.
Then after, I varied the method, as I removed the backing paper, the pola was applied against aluminium paper. The results are very gothic like. I'll endeavor to upload soon.
