You made the shot at the right moment, with some cloud covering the sun giving these lovely soft tones and shadows.

Incredible place, I've been to this ghost town in 2003, during a trip in the Western part of the US, unfortunately before I started doing photography really seriously and discovered LF...

Seeing deserted pubs and shops still having a large part of their inventory, like the billiard table and similar stuff, is just unbelievable. A real ghost town...

Thanks for your comments, Mike and Marco. I agree, it is an incredible place and I am lucky to live fairly close. I think I will be going back once more before the snow comes - there is so much to see (and shoot).

I love the shot but being a little picky I would remove some of the sky which I find too much. other than that it is a very wonderful and pleasing photo.

Cheryl, you're new to film and you did well shooting a scene that is very tricky for slide! It looks good, I sure wish I'd had a cloud or two when I went over to Bodie...

Anyway there are many output options for slides such as this, so enjoy them! Don't discard the underexposed ones, they might be just right for polaroid transfers via the daylab process.

I think the fluffy clouds at the top of the image balance the shot nicely. Well done indeed!
