Boat on Windermere

The image looks a little bit flat. Try a higher contrast grade and do some burning on the sky part. Also decentering the boat would add some dynamism.

I agree. Good grab. Bring more of the mountain on the right into the shot while pushing the sailboat to the left would have given it a little more "dynamism" ??? visual interest.

You know, it looks even better than I'd imagined. You have really brought out the cl;ouds and captured that solitude effect. I diagree with the flat look as I was a there when a higher grade was used and you lost the mountains. As a quick of the cuff shot, I find this works really well!

Thanks for all your comments. I had originally imagined this print to be printed with a much higher contrast (grade 3 +) but it it seemed to work alot better with a softer finish and a more atmospheric contrast Grade 2.5 - the finished print looks much better than the scanned image.

I agree about the centering of the boat. It was a grab shot from another boat, but I did crop in with the enlarger so I might try and print this again with a different perspective.
