Very nice and interesting picture. The title Boardwalk is boring. A picture should evoke a response. An emotion. Calling it an inanimate object lessens it's impact. Calling it something like "the long walk home" or something that conveys emotion is far more impactful. The picture doesn't say boardwalk, or dirt or log cabin, it says something emotional. And that's what I'd name it, that emotion. Photography is a visual communication. You are speaking to someone else through your creation. The good ones are emotional. As is this.
Yeah - you can call it dirt or road or sky for all I care. Fine shot, indeed - with or without a title. The framing & tone does this for me. Is this a place of some special meaning to you?I agree with blansky that good pictures evoke responses. But if titles add, then they also detract. There's something wrong with that for me personally.
