It probably is a rephotographed picture with a Canon EOS 300D digital (Exif info) and is very good.Once I did that -mostly for negatives- instead of the usual scanning method.

Quite right, it's almost impossible to scan an image like this in 2 halves and restitch. I did try but the variations meant it was not feasible. Ideally I need an A3 scanner. So yes I rephotographed the print here in Turkey - the scanners in the UK.
