A strange skinny building that's still there. There are more than a few of these oddly-shaped properties in Manhattan, where the grid street plan was overlaid on existing property lines and streets. I shot this about ten years ago.
One of my favorite neighborhoods in Manhattan. It's full of interesting quirky old buildings that have been doggedly preserved by the residents. Back in the 60s Robert Moses unveiled a plan to wipe out this neighborhood to build a freeway across Manhattan, and the residents stopped him. The single-story building in the foreground actually comes to a point: it's shaped like a pie-slice and still stands there.
