Looks almost like a "special Effects" photo which I do not believe it to be. But to what do you attribute this glow in the shadows and the highlights?

Is it the lense, the film, the paper or developer or simply all those elements combined?

What I'm asking is would you attribute the success of this photo to the lense.... all photos with this lense will give the same effect?

Thanks Eddie. Bruce, it's the lens. The rest of the equation is painfully ordinary including the technician. The Wolly Verito is capable of many effects by controlling distance, oof areas, and aperture. It can be extemely subtle at f7 on a full head portrait, or go for the throat like here.

Impressive! And yes, at first glance of the thumbnail I was simply thinking a diffused enlargement. This is lovely.

An 8x10 contact print with such "enlargement" of the subject must be truly impressive. I love the little dance the stray sprigs do at the lower part of the image...
