Wow-that really held the shadows and highlights.
Nice work.

Hi Russ,

I beleive this is the same image that appears in Barneir's 'Coming Into Focus'. I've received my order of the Weston DP but have not yet had time to try it out. It's been my experience though that any paper that prints well for platinum usually makes a great paper for cyanotype.

As for the image itself, it always reminds me of a late night urban scene in the summer from a noir movie. Definitely provokes a deja vu mood for me.

Don, you're right - it's the same image that appears in Coming Into Focus. The print on Weston paper looks much more contrasty and harsh then the reproduction in the book - it that due to the scan or the paper? (I like the book version better.)

Best regards,
Loris.

Thanks for taking the time to leave comments; I am most appreciative. Don & Loria have excellent memories- it is indeed the negative which produced the COMING INTO FOCUS image. Loris- it looks worse on the monitor- this is actually very close to the book image. Nice to know that someone actually read the book!
cheers,
Russ
