I'm asking because it seems to show reasonably good detail and sharpness, and the print tonality appears to come through pretty well.I am horrible at scanning my prints, so much so I've simply stopped doing it. I don't know the first thing about what resolution to use, sizing etc. so any quick tips would be appreciated. Sorry if this is off topic for APUG but I consider it on-topic given the very existence of the APUG gallery necessitates scanning.
Michael,nuthin fancy on the scanning. i use an epson v500 and sharpen it, add or decrease contrast, adjust brightness to match the print, usually not too much, the v500 scans pretty well. keep in mind that these scanned images you see here on APUG are just that. I try to get them to look like the actual print as much as possible which really is impossible imo.they are backlit images which already makes them dramatically different than the actual print...again, in my opinion. I have seen a number of the actual prints of the images posted here and they are far far superior than what you can get from a scan.There are a number of folks who will never post images because the scans do not do them justice so I would not worry too much about it.
