Birchville Dam - Topside

First trip back here with my 90mm lens which suits my style so much better I think. It's always so still, and this was a cold morning too. The wood in the foreground was frosty (you can kind of make it out) and I took this shot at around 11:30am.

You've been posting some excellent work lately, Chris. This I quite dynamic. I'm in the hunt for a 90mm and this makes me want one all the more. Shawn

I failed to see this prior to Shawn making his comment. I almost wish to apologize for that, because it truly is beautiful. There's a sense of 'adventurous calm' about it. Well done!

Great range of tones, and the contrast looks just right. I like the clouds reflected through the rails. Beautiful black and white!

Thanks guys.

Shawn, I put this rush of photo making down almost entirely to the 90mm lens I bought back in March. I'm sure your wallet doesn't want me to say this though. Before I only had a 150, and found it really limiting for my style/vision. The 90's pretty much perfect for me. It's tricky to focus an f8 lens (I need to upgrade my old black t-shirt darkcloth is all) sometimes, but for the price it's easily the best piece of photographic equipment I've ever bought.
