Beautiful, luminous image ! I`ve never seen trees like those in he tropics. There is Allspice, which has white wood and sheds its bark, but there are no groves of light coloured trees in the American tropics

In the Northern Hemisphere birches are kind of a Pioneer species which are the first to colonize distrupted or damaged ecosystems (for example after a wood fire).
I have a grass-covered roof on my house - those birches try to spread all over and I spend a lot of time weeding ...
