Both tree trunks in this and the other one come out very well. The last three look more painterly and less saturated than the partial handcoloured one which seems more saturated as is appropriate, I think, for partial hand colouring. It really stands out

Were they all done with Marshall's pencils? How long for each and with pencils how do you go about covering large areas of colour?

Lots of questions. How about an article in the articles section? If not now then certainly in the near future.

I think that hand colouring could be a talent you didn't know you had until now.

I'll be keeping my eyes open for more.

thank pentaxuser!

i used the side of the pencil to cover large swaths of the photo. (i hope that makes sense) they are all marshals pencils. these were pretty small photos. they did not take too long to color. maybe 15-20 min. it is pretty easy really....almost "like paint-by-numbers" the one with the black eyed susan took less time as there was less to colour. i am still experimenting with smearing the pencil marks to give it a different effect.

it is fun. you will be seeing more soon.

cheers
