I wanted to look at all three before I commented, I believe I like this one best, followed by the second print, and the third print last. I like this one for me, I like the tone of the second print for hanging in a gallery for older folk, and I think the 3rd print would appeal a lot to the younger crowd who might mistake it for an "Instagram" photo, really all three are spectacular, i still wish I could figure out how the trees lit up to be so white, it's really fantastic.
i admit i wondered about this cropping possibility when i was enjoying your first versions, but now that i see it tighter, i have to say that the first series (the wider view) holds more appeal to me -- it has a certain mood and quietness that the dramatic backlighting accents but doesn't overpower .... in these tighter versions, the dramatic lighting takes over and there's not the sense of place and contemplation that i felt with the first ones ..... anyway, for what it's worth rich
I think I agree with both of you! Stone: not very hard, the birch trees covered by frost and the sun low but intense (as it can be in this northern part of the world), probably also due to clouds in the back which makes the sun work like a spotlight. /Bertil
