In reality is the top section of the tower from the clock and above a different colour of stone from the lower section or is this a scanning problem and the tower's colour is much the same from top to bottom? Overall it is an eye catching picture.

Definitely different materials and colours. In bright sunlight (unlike the day this photo was shot), the top section is a brilliant white.
