Bill Hill's

This is a very political photograph. This building is located in the lower quadrent in Bronte Harbour, a neighbourhood of Oakville. It used to be a mom and pop supermarket and icecream parlour owned by Bill Hill. He passed on about seven years ago, 3/4 of the block was sold to a developer. The plan is to make a Marina Del Ray type development and the historical buildings in the neighbourhood on this specific block will be either torn down or moved. What bothers me is the poor planning at the municipal level as the development will overpower the neighbourhood. Unfortunately a lot of this is happening all over the world.

Great image Bill; I see glaring examples of this practice every day. No respect for old places or ways of being.
Maybe the past really is dead?
