Big Laurel sunset.

Big Laurel sunset.

Platinum-toned kallitype of a negative I shot a couple of evenings ago. The Big Laurel runs through the Pisgah Forest and drains into the French Broad. It’s one of my favorite walks in these parts.

Beautiful location, you captured the light perfectly. I like the neutral tones from the sodium acetate developer - I am waiting on some chemicals to mix up a batch of my own.

Very nice; given your backlit/IR work, I was wondering if you had ever explored platinotypes over gold foil. (You can still find work from late Dan Burkholder online, though I’m not sure if his book on the subject is still available.)
