Beybladers

Beybladers

Stef and his mates hold aloft their Beyblades. Stefs hand was out of frame and a confusing background required a close crop. I like this image, but its unintentional ambiguity troubles me at times.

Thanks for your comments Eric. Basically, Beyblades are small spinning-tops with silly names and exhorbitant price-tags; a spin-off (ha-ha) from the cartoon series of the same name. Regards, BLIGHTY

This is very interesting. I would never have guessed beyblade, though with some examination I can see one in a hand. The crop works, though a little more from the top wouldn't hurt.

At first I though this was a man. Then I noticed the tiny kidlet teeth and knew otherwise. The headband could be a bandana or even a hat, pulled low. Closer examination I see that it's paper. The face could be rage, but then I realize it's just play rage.

The ambiguity is strange . . . . but good. Anything that keeps one looking is good.

Reminds me of pictures of great photographers of the past such as Arbus or Meatyard...Excellent!

LOL! I love this image. My son has a box of them and I had them spinning around my kitchen floor at all times when it was a favourite thing to do. He's since moved onto skate boards. Yipes!
