Best Seat in the House

Old barber chair inside the Saloon at Bannack Ghost Town, Montana. This chair and a very ornate bar are the only items in this old building. I have photographed this chair a number of times and each time I love to think of how the bustling gold mine town life was unfolding for anyone sitting in this chair. Just think of the stories this chair could share if it could. Fascinating place!

The negative has plenty of shadow detail. However I like the hint of mystery the shadows add so once I have the capabilities to print I will do it very close to this look. I know it's not for everyone but it suits this location and its mood.

Nice. Was wearing my Bannack tee shirt yesterday so I really got a kick out of this. My family ran the hotel for a period of time, great, great, great grand parents or something like that. Great to see an image from there. I haven't been as successful, but should take a look at my Bannack negatives again. Roger

Glad you like it and that it brought back some memories. I love the hotel, it's one of my favorite buildings there. I had a difficult time shooting there on my first visit, it took me a few tries to "feel it". I guess it's one of those places that grows on you. The spirits get under your skin and if you respect them they'll be kind to you :smile:
