Belvedere with mist

This is a more typical view of the Belvedere - camera situated at "Viewpoint 1". The problem with this viewpoint is that you don't get the Villa walls illuminated and there is a lot of vegetation encrouching at the bottom of the frame - power lines too.

But hey, there are worse places to be!

Baxter,

Beautiful early morning image. Very peaceful, soft light, and misty feeling to the image. I like the way the mist in the mid ground picked up on the color of the sunrise.

Must be a tough place to wake up in the morning...

I can't believe this image didn't generate more comments. Beautiful!

A huge thankyou to you all for your kind comments.

Last year there wasn't really any mist to speak of. We had 1 excellent and 1 good day this visit. So not tremendous odds on finding great conditions.

I think it is not an unusual image, being a very typical depiction of this type of landscape. That said, from this particular viewpoint, there aren't really any options to be creative and do otherwise! A longer lens than 300mm would let me isolate a few individual parts of the scene, but not something I would ordinarily use and an extravagance especially since I probably won't be going next year.
