Being watched

On my way home a late summer evening I discovered this tree on the side of the road and felt I had to stop my car for a photo. While rigging my equipment a bunch of cows got interested and entered my scene. I quickly recomposed to get this shot as I think the cows are at least as interesting as the tree.

There is something about this picture that works well, but what that is I can't define.

That lady with the obviously higher IQ and the "talk to the butt" attitude in the lower right corner who is staring directly back at the viewer makes it for me. Nice ears...
