Some more Chemigrams. Here a leaf was soaked in developer and placed on the paper. The rest of the paper was coated with margine as a resist and patterns were made. Back and forth between developer and fix several times.
These are great! As I understand the process involves fogging the whole sheet and painting with developer... What would happen if you exposed the sheet under an enlargement of a standard negative instead of giving a fogging exposure?
Very cool! I love the experimental aspect things have been taking on here over the years. Question: do you have a stop or water bath between your developer and fix? I would imagine that the two could cross-contaminate fairly rapidly otherwise.
Thanks all! Bill, I haven't tried exposing with a negative first yet, but I think some neat things could be done that way. Toffle, Yes, I do use a water bath between fixer and developer. As some of these go back and forth several times, thing would get contaminated really fast. As the resist comes off as the process continues, the chemicals get contaminated with that. Margarine makes a mess of your trays and toothpaste just sludges things up. Use cheap chemicals and have fun.
