I don't know if you wish to show these images next to each other as a double? But for me, the one on the left does nothing to enhance the one on the right. In fact the one on the left looks like an accidental exposure when loading and winding on the camera. The image on the right however, has a lot more going for it. Great lighting, an S-shaped composition within the frame and nice colour. The angle also adds to the design, but I think it would definitely look better as a stand alone image, without the distraction of the one on the left.
I agree with Clive. I actually like the exposure on the left, but it seems like it would stand better by itself; it becomes an image of the space in the bed where someone used to be, with the peripheral information that someone else is still there---open to a lot of interpretations, thought-provoking, and not particularly a cliche (which is damn hard to achieve when photographing someone in a bed!).
I love these mindf....s ! The viewers must make their own 'missing' images: pre; middle and post? In my mind I can increase this to 5 pics! very delicate and effective DOF. thanks for sharing.
A dynamic diptych! Original, and with an intriguing invitation to the viewer to furnish the story! There are few examples of this kind of work on apug, so I'm not surprised that it would be a challenge for those who expect one complete statement from each photograph.
I think the structure and curve of the blankets in the left frame almost mirror perfectly the shape of the hips and legs in the right frame. Almost a structural comparison between animate and inanimate for me... I like it. Cheers, David.
