Beach Tree Study 1

Just playing around with the 35mm format again. I find it an interesting challange compositionally since I have been so used to working in 6x6.

John, this is a beautiful image. I like the balance, tonality and simplicity you have captured. I would have to agree, fun playing around with 35mm again, after working in larger formats. It's surprising how much freedom is inherent in the miniature formats. Nicely seen and printed. tim

Thanks Tim and Dan for the nice comments. Dan, yes the camera is a new rangefinder made for zeiss and I am having a whole lot of fun with it. Getting out and doing some handheld shooting without lugging around a tripod all the time is liberating ....although I will never give up my hassey stuff.

Regards,
John

I'm increasingly dumbstruck by the images I see here, but this has got to be one of my favorites. I've never really sat and stared at a photo like that. This is just plain impressive. The clouds and the tree work so well together.
I'm going to have to take some photos in the morning out of sheer jealousy now.
