Best, Peter

Christian-what size is this series? Are they 2+1/4 sqare as the Rollei size? Just saw the other one in the series and it is equally beautiful. And if they are that size it in no way deters from outstanding work. Look foward to seeing more in this series.
Again best, Peter

Hello Peters

I thank you for the kinds comment and will post more of the series in the following weeks.

These are part of a 30 edition prints 10 of the edition will be in 9x9 inch silver enlarged negative ( this scan is from a 9x9 print) , 10 others will be 20x20 platinum or even more , I am looking for some large ortho film available in France . And the 10 others will be in an hand made book of photogravure.
All these just to keep some work for all other the year.

Christian

Christian-that's an incredible project. You also know how to do Photogravure or is someone else doing that part for you? Look into the Maco Genius film. Very high quality and I have bought this in a 30meter roll (I think that's the size-I'm not home right now) Please keep us up to date on this project
Peter

Christian-I'm confused-the above is a scan of a Silver print?
Peter

Peters - this is a scan of a 9x9 platinum palladium print from aenlarged negative of a 2 1/4 negative. I make the larger negative using ortho film.

I am in the learning curve of photogravure and hope and think to make good work in a year, need some time to practice more. At the moment I am more in the platinunm print.
Christian

Christian-Photogravure is beautiful. I own an extremely interesting book from about 1895 filled with photogravures by a famous English Photographer. The prints/photos are stunning. I bought it at a book show in NYC about 15 years ago. The pages are totally intact like the dat they were made. It am not at home but will report back to you when I get there and foward the info. Next week I'm going to do a 4 day workshop with Tillman Crane in Palladium and in mid-august I'm doing a five day
workshop in Albumen printing. I originally learned Plat. printing with Arkady Lvov-you can google his name. One of the best printers in the business. I'm intrigued by the Albumen process. Although I have no photo posts here I am a very serious silver gelaton printer. Are you learning the photogravure by yourself? It is an involved process and not for the faint of heart.
I believe that many people fall for the processes and not the actual work-as in alternate printing-but your work is on HIGHER plane.
Is this series going to be offered through the contactprintersguild?
Thank you for sharing your information with me-Peter Schrager
