Miles,
I hated the film after I got back from Bermuda where I shot 20 rolls of it, and developed it in pyrocat HD. it was very grainy and I didn't like how the developer work with in. So I reduced the ASA to 100 and used Microdol-X and found that the tones were much better and the grain is so reduced that I can print this as a 16x16 and still have better grain structure than the pyro did printing 8x8. This print is 11x11 and you can see how little grain there is.
Lovely smooth tonal scale Michael. Seems like you mastered this film. I am surprised at how Pyrocat HD handled the grain though. Normally it is minimal, but the Microdol-X is certainly working wonders. Nice job and a good series of images.
Andrew,
I used pyro on earlier work from my bermuda series and the best I could due was 8x8 or 11x11 on special situations. I just printed 16 x 20 from my 2 1/4 bergger 200, this came out okay grainy but exceptable. My efke 25 was outstanding and will be the film of choice for the 2 1/4 from now on using microdol-x. I will still use pyrocat with my 8x10 8x20's 11x14's. I like to develop by inspection with those.
