I thought this sounded a strange sign for an Edinburgh diner so wondered at first if it might be Musselburgh instead Until now I never realised that "banger" extended much farther than the sound of Bow bells

Well found.
You seek out much more interesting places than I manage.

Southhampton was more interesting than I envisaged. Thanks Martin.

I have printed on 8x10 paper a load of 6x6 negatives taken in Musselburgh in 1956 by a semi professional photographer now long dead. The fishing and mining industries feature heavily.

Almost posterized. Nice to see some art used on a store front, and the passerby fits so well.

Once I explained what 'bangers' were to my American wife, I then had to explain why one would not want to eat an 'old banger'.
If the diner had been open I would have ventured in for "Bangerz 'n' Mash".
