This is a shot I made of my grandmother the year she turned 90 years old. I didn't really love how it came out, so I've never printed it (apologies for the neg scan now). She passed away last week at 97 and I just wanted to honor her memory by posting this.
Very nice Bethe, you will be able to minipulate the image when printing, looks like you have a good neg to work with.
Sorry to hear of your loss, as Suzanne says these really are the most improtant images.
Steve
Very nice, indeed. It reminds one of the interviews with Charis Wilson and Seema Wetherwax, both in their 90s, in the video The Eloquent Nude. Imogene Cunningham was still photographing and Ruth Bernhard was still giving workshops in their 90s. There can be something special about old age if we can only make it that far.
Thank you everyone! I think I see this photo differently now than I did when I first saw it. I still don't like her hair sticking out and the blown out lamp, but there is something more of her in it than I saw initially.
Sorry for your loss Bethe. We are happy that you will have this wonderful picture to show to your son as he grows up. Dolly's mother just celebrated her 90th. I have some pictures to take. Thank you for the reality check
