Awakening

These amazing roots from a new tree that sprouted out of and on top of one that the forest reclaimed.

I titled it such as the old, dead growth gave birth to the new, as well as the figurative aspects of the roots.

very nice photograph. there's a bit of an ominous feeling with the roots looking like tentacles and a deep dark area behind it. back in my forestry school days we called those old, dead trees "nurse logs", for obvious reasons. the forest is a special place. again, well done.

Thanks Alan, Chris.

This is, FWIW, the first print I've editioned since my new darkroom was completed end of May. Darn good to be printing...
