As might be expected, Ken really likes this one. And being a storyteller who enjoys both depth and texture in photographs, he can't not ask for additional details about the aircraft itself. If you can recall, just what is it?
Thanks.
I'm really please with the sharpness as well, I think I hand held it at 1/60 (using the 75mm 2.8).
The scan is nice, but printed the tones are fantastic. I've got an 8x10 of this done on Adox 312, and it may well be my favourite print. The metal *sings*. I've really fallen in love with how Delta 400 renders metal surfaces.
Nice photo. I see some sort of rudimentary variable pitch propeller there. This might be a Sopwith Snipe. They came out in WWI, but I don't think they had any kind of variable pitch prop back then. The Sopwith Snipe was used operationally until the 1930's, & by then, variable pitch props were in use. And, that cowling is unusual. This could be a Sopwith Snipe.
