Autumn Road

The glowing colors in the morning sun made me take this image with my Rollei 35 S.

The colours captured are lovely but I do think that you could crop out the large area of road in the foreground. I feel that it does not add much to your finished photo and is in fact is a distraction to the viewers eye.

Vincent, thanks for your useful comment! - I have cropped the image so that the dashed line is in the lower left corner. This really improves the image a lot! I found the wet street interesting too and originally chose the lower edge so that some of the leaves on the street were included. But what I see now clearly is: One has to decide on ONE topic of the image, and this is here clearly the color of the trees - Less is more! Maybe I will post this final version then too - it shows also more details within the allowed height of 850 pixels - but I will wait until my image has left the gallery front page considering the ongoing discussion on serial posts - if you like to compare yourself now, you can crop the image by scrolling it down...

I'm just the opposite of Vincent, I would rather crop the vast expanse of blue sky. (Scrolling so the image cuts off just above the large patch of orange on the left does it for me.) I've discovered recently that I'm drawn to paths: straight, winding, gently curved, steep, whatever.

Putting the point at which the road disappears at a "rule of thirds" point down from the top of the frame looks great as well.I really like the raw shot, and how it can be interpreted!Cheers, David

Thanks for the other interpretations of the image too - again very useful comments!
