Photo taken at about 7:30 AM. Sun coming from left. Lightly snow covered peak is Algonquin, 2nd tallest peak in the Adirondack Mountains. Mist in mid ground of image, foreground in deep shadow.
Guys, thanks for the compliments. The actual transparency as is usually the case is about 1/2 to 2/3 stop lighter than this scan. No filter was used, but there is a strong contrast of the orange of the leaves and blue of the lake and the sky (secondary and primary colors). There actually is a mate to this image taken the year before at about 8:30 AM. That image has a stronger reflection and the reds are deeper in color than this image; I had waited for the mist to clear in that image because I wanted a strong red reflection in the lake water. The photo here, however was taken at about 7:30 AM utilyzing the early sunlight striking the mountainside. Additionally, here in this image I wanted to include the mist in the mid ground. The color in Autumn Misty Morn, Heart Lake (above) is further along in the color change than its mate, but the colors are more orangy red than a deep red.
