A 'GIFT' camera -- a MINOLTA Autocord -- it was all filthy -- I cleaned the reflex mirror and all lens surfaces.
Subject is 'The Mayflower Ship' associated with the Pilgrim Fathers and Billericay Town near Brentwood. Its on a metal plinth.
I did some more 'Definition Tests' where all the bricks are resolved but this site tells me I have reached my 100 MB upload maximum and cannot show any more without Deleting some of my earlier photos which I did to show this one.
In 1966 (at 16) I was allowed to buy my first real camera; a brand new Minolta Autocord CDS for $120. It was a fortune back then and I was determined to go beyond 35mm. I loved it and cherished it and every time I needed more film, there was, in 120, Verichrome (45 cents) and Plus X Professional (55 cents). My enlargements were stunning. But, alas, I often found that the aperture (F3.5) for insufficient for available light. And, that depth of field was not too great, either. In 1978 I finally got an AE-1 and never looked back. But the Autocord is truly as good as the Rollei I think. - David Lyga
David : i know how excited you must have been to get that Autocord !! I'm not sure how OLD my one is -- it has an OPTIPER-MXS shutter and a 75mm f3.5 'CHIYOKO Rokkor' lens. Camera Serial Number : 188282 .
