Autocord Colour Test

Having tried B&W XP2 Super in my 'Gift' MINOLTA AUTOCORD from 1955 I loaded a 2005 dated Fuji Superia 100 120 size and metered with a British 'Weston Master V' -- the Chiyoko Rokkor lens gave good results BUT there was a Light Leak this time so I have had to replace the black 'Twine' that was used

Pete, how you get PERFECT color like this is really great. Of course, part of the reason might be a superior scanner (this is not an RA4 print), but your hues really provide impact. - David Lyga

Good Afternoon David -- well it IS here in England !
When I 'scan' using my old Epson 1650 flatbed and 'Vuescan Pro' the colour is bad -- it usually has a Green/ Cyan cast -- so when it goes into Faststone Image Viewer automatically I check colours with the 'Levels' Channels, RED, GREEN and BLUE and see the 'histogram' -- I see there is a big 'gap' to the Right of RED so I bring the cursor to the start of the RED and it puts in more RED and lightens the scan, then look at GREEN and do the same with the Cursor and usually I move the Middle cursor to the RIGHT a little so it brings in Magenta, then with the BLUE channel check and move middle cursor to RIGHT and it brings in YELLOW and darkens colours -- if colours are still too light I bring up 'Curves' like the H and D Curve of 'Film' and adjust contrast in curves a little.
After many years of Colour Printing' in darkroom it has helped me to 'adjust colours' as I would i darkroom with the enlarger filters.

Yes, you have obtained the ability to read hues well and it shows. I do not have a scanner and, thus, must revert to doing things the old-fashioned way, with RA4 prints then scanning them by simply taking a picture with a cheap digital camera. Because of this, I am not able to demonstrate, online, the same abilities that you have, but I fully understand and accept this.

By the way, it is MORNING, not afternoon!!!!! - David Lyga
